A Welcome Message from Dr. Zito

Welcome to the Rocky Hill Public Schools! We are very pleased with our new website and we hope that you will find it informative and user-friendly.

The Rocky Hill Public School district has enjoyed a long tradition of educational excellence. We serve a medium-sized suburban town of approximately 19,000 residents located 11 miles south of Hartford, the state’s capital city. For school year 2015-16, our district enrollment consists of 2,616 students attending four schools: West Hill Elementary School, Myrtle H. Stevens Elementary School, Griswold Middle School, and Rocky Hill High School. The staff of the Rocky Hill Public Schools maintains an unwavering commitment to providing the children that we serve with a first-class education – one that will prepare each of them for success in the 21st century. We strive to implement best practices within our schools and classrooms, and we believe that our collaborative approach to improvement – built upon school-based data teams – affords teachers with on-going opportunities to analyze student work so that we may continually refine and enhance our classroom instruction. In addition to making sure that all students strive to excel in their academic disciplines, the Rocky Hill Public Schools encourages students to pursue personal development in co-curricular venues such as the fine and performing arts and interscholastic athletics. As a pre-kindergarten through grade 12 “learning organization,” we remain focused on the comprehensive (intellectual, emotional, social, and physical) development of each child who attends our public schools.

On behalf of our faculty and staff, I can attest to the fact that we feel fortunate to serve in a community that is committed to the success of its public schools. Moreover, we take great pride in the collective accomplishments of our outstanding students. I look forward to receiving your feedback with respect to our efforts as we continue to build upon the considerable strengths of the Rocky Hill community, our students, and our dedicated staff.

Please feel free to contact me via email.
